You’ve saved all year for your well earned UK family break, of course you’ve searched the ukfamilybreak website for the best UK Holiday deals and offers and finally booked your accommodation.
With little left in the kitty, it makes perfect sense to keep your costs down whilst on your break with the family.
So here are our top 5 tips.
Some of which are based on personal experience, to save on the pennies… remember all money saved can then be put towards next years holiday!
1. Why not rent a lodge or cottage as a large group.
This will reduce the amount you pay per person and you can share the cost of food. With more adults around also means you can share childcare and won’t need to pay for it.
2. Eating out can be a big expense on holiday.
Think about an all inclusive holiday to keep track of your budget. An all inclusive stay means that meals, and sometimes drinks, are included in the cost of your holiday. Because all inclusive holidays include accommodation and food you can get some good deals and pay less than if you paid for each of these things separately.
3. Self catering holidays can help you save money on food too.
The shops you find on holiday resorts can be pricey, you’ll save money by shopping at a local supermarket instead. When you book a self catering holiday it’s worth checking where the nearest local supermarket is. It’s ideal if you can find one within walking distance so you can load the car up with all those bargain buys.
4. Shop around for your holiday insurance.
Many holiday companies will offer you insurance when you book with them: but check what they’re offering you is competitive by having a look on a money price comparison site. Annual travel insurance policies can offer the best value if you plan to get away more than once during the year.
5. Take your own food and drink
Take your own food and drink for the car journey to stop you splashing out on the pricey food at the motorway services. Also fill your car up with petrol before you’re on the motorway, petrol prices are often hiked up at motorway services too.
